The Wines of Cedar Ridge Vineyards
2010

Cedar Ridge Vineyards has a wine for every occasion.  Use our descriptors to decide which wine pairs best with your next meal!

Cedar Ridge Whites

Candlelight

Our Candlelight is made primarily from the Chardonay grape.  We barrel ferment it and age it in American Oak, creating an elegant dry white with hints of peach and pear on the nose and a very long buttery finish.  Great match for shellfish and lightly seasoned white meats or sauces.

LaCrosse

A unique white wine made from estate-grown LaCrosse and barrel fermented.  Our winemaker’s favorite, with an incredible pear fragrance, finishing with subtle apricot, citrus and melon notes.  Finished “off-dry”.

La Crescent
Benefitting from direct morning and early afternoon sunlight, this delicious semi-dry white has it all~rich nose of apricot, grapefruit, passion fruit and honeysuckle, plenty of mouthfeel, and a lingering citrusy finish. Limited quantity for 2010.

Brianna

Set on a prime hilltop location facing the sun, our 100% estate-grown Brianna is among the first releases ever of this promising new grape variety.  When properly ripened, Brianna exhibits a tropical fruit aroma that is rare to find at any price.

Geisenheim
Made from the Geisenheim grape, this semi-sweet white has a pine needle nose followed by a sweet lingering grapefruit and lime taste. Match with light dishes or Mexican chicken dishes.

Edelweiss
Made from 100% estate-grown grapes, our Edelweiss thrives on its lower hillside location with deep, rich soil.  This is a great summertime semi-sweet white – balanced, with nice body, exhibiting the floral “edelweiss” nose, with honeyed peach & apricot flavors.

Cedar Ridge Reds

St. Croix
Our first bottling of this estate-grown red, Cedar Ridge St. Croix is a heavy, earthy red with dark cherry flavor, plenty of mid-palate and a spicy finish that reveals its French Oak barrel aging.  Match with seasoned steaks and aged cheeses.

Marechal Foch(Sold Out until mid Fall)

An all-Iowa exclusive.  Pronounced “Mare-a-shall Foash”, this red is made from 100% estate-grown grapes.  With only three days of skin contact, the grapes are pressed and allowed to finish fermenting in barrel, softening and rounding out the tart cherry flavor of this grape.  Serve with a variety of cheeses, and ham or pork loin with a sweet marinade.

Lo Vines
The least dry of our reds, Lo Vines is an easy-sipping red for those not accustomed to the bone-dry, tannic finish of a typical red wine.  Blended from a combination of estate grown and California varieties, Lo Vines Red exhibits a huge "strawberries and cream" profile.

Five Seasons
A blend of five different grapes (St. Croix, Marechal Foch, Frontenac and Geneva Red from our estate, plus 20% merlot).  Our Five Seasons Red is a heavy, earthy red with a dark cherry flavor, plenty of tannins and a spicy finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Shipped in fresh from Lodi, California, our Cabernet is crushed and fermented here, then barrel aged in new oak for ten months. This versatile red wine exhibits a classic cabernet nose. This wine should age very well and is best served with red meat.

Cedar Ridge Blush

Harvest Blush
A semi-sweet blend of grape and fruit wines, we begin with fresh picked Concord grapes and blend in our own apple wine to create a wonderfully fresh, juicy, soothing drink.

Cedar Ridge Dessert Wines

St. Pepin
Our Cedar Ridge estate grown St. Pepin was allowed to fully mature on the vine resulting in a very sweet dessert wine with a fresh tropical fruit aroma and rich, icy peach/melon finish.

Port - LOT # 7
As Iowa’s only winery and distillery, only Cedar Ridge Port is made from its own wine fortified with its own brandy.  This Port Wine has been held in barrel as long as possible to concentrate and integrate its profile.  It should be a great pour for the next decade or so.
