In 2006, when there were only two craft distillers in the state, we began lobbying for the ability to sell our own products – we got that bill passed in 2010, and that’s when sales of our Iowa Bourbon took off. It also spawned creation of another dozen craft distillers here in Iowa.
Now, after five more years of lobbying effort, we’ve evened the playing field with our competitors in surrounding states by gaining the right to serve a drink made from our product. “I’m excited and thrilled to be able to provide a service that our guests, quite frankly, have always expected when they walk in the door,” says General Manager, Jamie Siefken. “It’s never been easy to explain to guests why they can’t enjoy a glass [of anything] while they’re visiting – only bottles of wine.”
